Being a regular invader of the Hamptons over the past 20 years, I’m fully aware of the natural beauty of the landscape and storybook quaintness of Southampton Village, last night proved to be a fresh experience.
Having come off my first full-length performance in 10 months (albeit virtual) from Parrish Art Museum in Watermill, I stayed at my favorite go-to place, the Southampton Inn for a lovely overnight stay. As though by magic and adding to my experience, the entire Village was dressed up in lights and holiday tinsel. Whilst it seems I was the lone pedestrian as I took a stunning 45-minute walk around Jobs Lane and Main Street, I experienced one of the most beautiful, intimate evenings in the Hamptons in years. Southampton off season is a gem – and this year it somehow makes it even more meaningful.
